Understanding GFCI Installation Options

You have two main ways to add GFCI protection to your home.

A GFCI circuit breaker sits in your electrical panel and protects an entire circuit. Every outlet on that circuit is protected. This is more expensive upfront but covers everything on the circuit at once.
How to Know If Your Outlets Are Protected
Look at your outlets. If you see "Test" and "Reset" buttons, it's a GFCI outlet. If you don't see those buttons, check your electrical panel. Look for a circuit breaker labeled "GFCI" or ask a licensed electrician to inspect your home.
